The beatboxer, far left, is Layne Sterling and is associated with Patty Cake Studios which has produced a lot of their videos.

With the way names were changed when families came to America, maybe they are shirttail cousins?

6. Ironically, Layne plays violin too.... we call him VioLayne

Kind of a technical PLUS 1 instrument for this video..... but it was MAINLY vocals crushing a Metallica cover of Nothing Else Matters

He COULD have done beatbox while playing the violin, but they though it wasn't a good look. The whole ambiance was scaled back to black and the lights because Nothing Else Matters is from the Black Album

7. IF you like a Bass singer with a 5 octave range who can sing ALL 5 parts, watch THIS ONE

USE HEADPHONES to get the FULL effect..... there are sub-harmonic low notes that will vibrate in your chest.

8. OH and this is an Acappella group.

They do some editing in post production to enhance the experience, but their voices are still their main instruments.


Layne did add violin once or twice but we forgive him.


And in solo work, Geoff (Tall guy on the right) does play piano and a slap bass can be heard in Sound of Silence.
