(7,309 posts)Ugh, earache. Sore throat. Thank goodness it rained today and I'm back to 75%.
Take care. Drink Gatorade or pedialyte. Take benadryl for allergies and to help you rest.

(19,773 posts)Husband has COPD and was coughing non stop and fatigued. Took him to ER and He spent one night in observation room. He appeared better after massive prednisone blast. Covid and flu tests were negative. 24 hours back to ER (7pm)he was admitted. 2 am just as he got a room, flu test came back positive for influenza and parainfluenza. Who knows if the first test was false neg or he got the influenzas during first ER visit. I spent 5 more nights in hospital with him. It was very, very bad. The strong steroids caused full on dementia (normally he just has short term memory issues). Home now for several days and great improvement, though still has short bouts of confusion. Im hopeful that will continue to fade as he is weaned off the strong steroids. After a couple days I started having flu symptoms despite wearing a mask 24 hrs since we got the diagnosis. We were both vaccinated , so my case has been mild and managed with otc cold meds.
Hoping you also sail through this in just a few days!

(103,373 posts)Get some Gatorade or something with electrolytes to avoid dehydration, water isn't enough. My go to is Gatorade, I know disgusting but, after losing lunch, it tastes pretty good and is helpful in recovering more quickly. I can only tolerate the fruit punch flavor, that's it.

(24,906 posts)it's going to be a bad year for springtime pollen allergies. My wife is having a pretty rough time today. I had to cook Easter dinner. That's how you get baby back ribs for Easter. She mostly took Benadryl and napped with the dogs off and on all day. The dogs loved it.
I'm fortunate to not have allergies like that.
