with his two Vreemde Kostgangers bandmates is now in its third week in the Dutch Top 10, which has to be good news for him.
I've been updating the thread asking for prayers for him, and this link will take you to the reply with excerpts from the longest recent article about him, reply 102 there on March 14:

Btw, I don't know George. My OP asking for prayers for him, after he finally gave an interview last summer about how he was doing (after nearly a year and a half of silence since the diagnosis had been announced), had also mentioned someone I knew who'd died of ALS - see that OP at https://www.democraticunderground.com/10181674319 and https://www.thirteen.org/rolling/discover/ernie-wallengren/ and https://www.thirteen.org/rolling/thefilm
. It's such a horrible disease. I've been a Golden Earring fan for a long time, and I think it's tragic that George has ALS, not just for him and his family, but for all the musicians he's worked with. His getting ALS not only ended Golden Earring's career after 60 years, but also ended the duo he was in with American guitarist Frank Carillo, and his Dutch supergroup trio with two other famous Dutch musicians. Fortunately Golden Earring's last concert had been recorded so a double CD and DVD of that could be released, and his second album with Frank Carillo was finished and released last year and got good reviews. And that VK album was finished and released last month and got great reviews and is a hit in the Netherlands. George had also written a lot of songs for other artists and/or produced records for them, for several decades, and that's over now, too.
