(21,552 posts)One is my pill dispenser, which has compartments for each day of the week, with the day written on it.
The other is my phone. The opening screen gives the date, day of the week, and time of day.
I have resorted to checking one source or the other a few times since retiring.

(34,136 posts)Now that I am not watching network shows I lose track of what day of the week it is. It used to be that I knew it was Tuesday because I was watching "x" show. Now I have a line up of various old shows I watch almost every day and the day of the week doesn't matter.
Except for Monday - that is Rachel Maddow Day!
I just got my Ithaca Calendar Clock back from the clock repair guy and was hoping it would help keep track of days. But the calendar function is missing a part and it seems to be changing the day of the week at random (or maybe every twelve hours). Sigh. The clock guy kept it for a year trying to get it working correctly, but with a 150 year old clock, he just couldn't get the part that's missing.
As a teenager in the 1930s my Dad took the clock out of a garbage pile in the company town where he grew up. He fiddled with it and tried to get it working, but I bet the part has been missing since before he found it. Oh well, it does keep time.

(34,136 posts)He built the cases for five grandfather clocks - one for him and one for each of us kids. When he died, he had nine interesting clocks, and nine heirs so it worked out OK.
