When it's your health, go with your gut

I had melanoma. I see a NP, who's great, for skin scans. I have a red lesion over my eyebrow. She told me it was eczema, but gave me fluorouracil. I thought it was just an eczema cream

I didn't like using it, because it got in my hair. It also seemed to be making my "eczema" worse. I was blase about it since it was just a tiny patch of eczema. I guess I should have read the use of the cream.

I felt something was not right. The cream I started using again was making the lesion redder. I made an appointment with a dermatologist. I have pre-cancerous lesion. The cream was supposed to kill it. I asked the dr to just freeze the lesion off my face. I'm more comfortable with that than some cream.

Please don't ignore your gut feelings about your body. No matter what a healthcare provider says. I'm disappointed in my nurse. Obviously, had a heard pre cancer, id be vigilant about treating it. So, it's been frozen off. Lesson learned.

later, I was teaching and the students said my nose was bleeding. It was the spot.I didn't go back to the doctor but went to a
dermatologist , who removed six lesions. Luckily, it was basal cell carcinoma. but I do have to check every two years. I never went back to my regular doctor. We found a new one. Best of luck to you.

Glad it was caught. Had I not felt weird about it, God knows how long it would have sat there. I already had melanoma

He's also very thankful for the professional skills of the dermatology discipline which regularly exams and occasionally paints, freezes, slices or scoops out unwelcome, nomadic gangs of pirate cells trying to board and commandeer his pasty, white hide-boat of Northern European construction.

3 cheers here for regular stem-to-stern inspections and debarnacling of the hull holding it all together.
