I've lost several friends because they didn't honor my generosity.

It won't stop me from helping people in the future. Just not those people who failed to account to me.

Another way if they really want it and will pay it back, I'll ask if I can hold that 14K ring until they pay me back.

I had a friend who would borrow it, return it, borrow it, return it but then one time never returned it. I figured she needed it more than I did. And then she moved before I could ask what happened to it. I am not sure why I had one but every once in a while it comes up and my husband will say "We used to have a staple gun..."

And she never did but I was ok with it because she was living in a homeless shelter and really down on her luck. She was diagnosed with cancer a while later which she survived but basically can’t work anymore and is on social security disability and other social services. Luckily I could afford it.

And my husband’s nephew wanted us to co-sign on a loan of $60,000 to attend an airline pilot school and I vehemently was against it and it almost jeopardized my marriage but eventually my husband agreed with me but it caused a minor rift with his sister. The nephew ended up getting his pilot’s license while working at a pilot training school. He now flies for a commuter airline working to get hours to fly a major carrier.

It was 5 or 6 hundred, so not huge but not trivial. Guy got arrested for stalking his ex-wife, so it's probably best we didn't see him ever again.
The musical instrument was a Korg that simulated a Hammond B-3.
Guy in corporate analytical borrowed it for recording. Had it a couple months.
I went to England, and when I got back I heard he left the company for a job in a different state. Never heard from him again.

Loaned it to a friend - local jazz guitarist. It had the most amazing action and tone, especially for a cheap guitar - so much so that it became his go-to for about five years. Finally got it back and, in the midst of a move, stored it in another friend's church, where it got "lost". Up his nose, I've always assumed.

I miss that axe bad.

When I asked for it back she said to wait until the end of the year when we got our insurance rebate. I said no. She paid me 50 a month. She said it was all she could afford. But at lunch, she was bragging about the cell phones. church parties. and other non essentials she was buying. I thought I was helping her pay for food and utlities.

break them. My neighbor had a power painter, We didn't ask to borrow as we would be responsible for it if broken. So we painted our white picket fence by hand in July.My thing is if I don't have the money for it, I don't need it. I don't need a 100 watch when a cheaper one will do. Just me though. We have let us others borrow. But we don't. Only thing we every borrowed was money for the house and our cars. And I might forget about giving it back. Which I would hate to do.
