Chilling on the beach in Gili Trawangan. What concert did you go to?

He’s 74 and slowing down. And his voice is not what it once was. But he still puts on a great show.

Do you live in Indonesia? Or are you visiting?

I’m traveling. I left Florida the middle of January and have been bouncing around the globe. Gili T is definitely one of the best places I’ve been. Sadly, my adventure is coming to end. I’ll be back home in 3 weeks.

1993 - Thurls, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.
2012 - Toronto, Canada.
2018 - Calgary, Alberta.

Tonight, Vancouver.

I hope you get the chance. I don’t imagine he’ll be touring much longer.

I have Muscian friends who have gone there to play in the pubs. They said the people were wonderful and it was incredibly beautiful.

mind-paralyzing amount of green everywhere is a little stunning.

Hope to visit again someday.

I’m told Bali is a can’t-miss. But I also hear it’s too touristy now to be enjoyable.

I’ll just have to see for myself.

Ubud was fun. Now? If you are going less that 1.5miles you can walk faster than you can drive. Cars and scooters everywhere! Floating plastic in the water so it’s like swimming in a garbage dump. Heartbreaking. On Gili T the only transport is horse drawn cart, bicycle, or electric scooter but there are very few of those. The island is so small you can walk around it in an hour and a half. I swim with turtles every day. There are restaurants on the beach under the trees with great live music every night. I think I could stay here forever.

During the rainy season it would wash out into the ocean. It was all organic so not a big deal. Sadly, they are still doing the same thing only now it’s plastic. The government has an education program in all the schools so the children are learning how to care for the land and water. It’s a start but in the meantime….

I have always hated being up in the mornings!

my mum didn't get it, she used to say, what's wrong with you then, sleeping all day, maybe you should see a doctor...I told her mum I WORK ALL NIGHT, that is why I SLEEP ALL DAY, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH ME!

I’m so used to getting up early to get to the clinic that I’m pretty much up by six even on the weekends.

I haven’t been up past midnight since the New Year.

Some people just do OK with way less than the recommended amount of sleep. Health OK.

I can't nap, either. That might change if and when I get a recliner, but I'd have to move out some furniture to make room. I have too many tables, but the main one is a $25 thrift store dining table I restored to gorgeous condition. Solid oak framed with veneer plywood inserts, a bit like this but the wood between the frame pieces is not diagonal.

I'd find a picture of the table but then I might be up all night. 😴

I rolled outside to do a couple loads of laundry and had a couple other errands that required attention. The pulmonologists are a cranky bunch if they don't get their vent downloads on time.
