Hello friends,

This is Frustrated Lady's granddaughters. It was very important for Grandma to send a message to all of you and to let you know how much she loved this forum. Unfortunately, Frustrated Lady is in hospice care and is unable to communicate. She wanted to let you know how important it was for her to communicate with like-minded people and she truly expressed the love she had for all of you. She expressed over the weekend how important it was for her to send a final message, we wanted to make sure to fulfill that wish.

Thank you for being her dear friends and a constant support. She made us promise that we would never "switch sides and vote Republican" and we will keep that promise.

She joined DU not long after I did. I don't recall all our interactions, but when I did a quick search I found a perfect reply from her - beginning "This is as sweet as it gets" - to my post at https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216601994 . That had brought a smile to my face then, and it did again today.

She fit in so well here, and she will be missed.

I don't know what beliefs your grandmother has about an afterlife - and I don't think beliefs matter, either. My own belief, based on personal experiences and what I've heard from so many people I've met, is that we go on, and there are reunions with loved ones on the other side. I hope you'll have assurances of that, comforting signs.

But whatever your beliefs, you were blessed to share your life with her, and vice versa.

I remember during the Bush fiasco when I didn't have anyone to bitch to or explain what all was going on. I felt the world was changing before our very eyes and I needed a comfort zone. Nearly 20 years? WOW! We've fought a lot of battles in that time and have the ultimate battle before us. Don't totally leave us. i was wondering what drew her to du, assuming it was probably similar to what drew me here, and most of us here. i googled and found the above post. while i did have people i could bitch to i was still searching out a "comfort zone" and through a google search that i did one lost and devastating night i also found du, and also felt that it saved my sanity and my soul -- just as she felt.

and through the years we have been a community for support, alliance, venting, frustration, celebration, humor, and so much more. she'll always be a part of this community.

Just to let you know, Grandma passed peacefully in her sleep yesterday morning surrounded by loved ones. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives for as long as we did. Her wisdom, strength, and compassion will live on through all of us who were lucky to learn from her. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as you made her time here on Earth without Grandpa so much less lonely for her.
