(8,046 posts)A teacher I work with saw them here in L.A. recently and said it was great. And, a childhood friend of mine's (in TX.) ex-husband is seeing them this weekend for his 70th birthday.

(34,169 posts)They broadcast live on a streaming service.
Some of the songs seemed a faster pace than in the recent past and I like that!

(17,425 posts)My mailman saw the recent Dead and Co. at Cornell, and he's going to Saratoga.
I've seen the Grateful Dead roughly 100 times, give or take.
I've never been to a Dead & Co. show.

(34,169 posts)I was in the scene from 1985 to 1992.
DeadCo is different but they can still bring me to that happy place.
Ticket prices are for the bougie spendy, but it was worth it.

(17,425 posts)My favorite years are '70 to '74, as well as '77, and some primal dead from the '60's if I'm in the right mood.
I watch Dead & Co. on YouTube occasionally. I really like the videos that show the crowd dancing.
I'm happy for you that you experience that happy place! Some people can't feel it with any type of music, and I think it's a gift to be able to get that feeling. There's nothing like it!
You've probably heard this before...you have to put your "dog ears" on and really listen to the music. I've been moved to tears at many shows because of the intensity. Probably for the same reason that people start crying while experiencing opera.
Have fun at the shows!

(34,169 posts)Eyes of the World was epic (track 13). 23 minutes epic. With an Oteil bass solo and sublime scat epic.

(11,631 posts)Once in StLouis next week and then 3 times in Boulder before 4th of July. Have been listening to the shows on nugs.net. They are definitely jamming out the songs in this tour more than I've heard them do in previous years and it sounds really good, but its also starting to seem like they've cut down the setlists some to repeat the greatest hits songs more frequently as well.
