Willie Nelson - Rare Video Recording (1962)

This is how I envisioned Willie Nelson when I first heard him on the radio, That velvet smooth voice and distinctive phrasing conjured up a clean-cut look in my mind. Imagine my surprise when I finally got a glimpse of him on TV after he transitioned. But stumbling across this old video from 1962 validates my original impression.

1. Early in his career, he was known as Hugh Nelson.

Willie, 1933, has a running contest with Keith Richards, 1943, as to who will live closest to forever.

2. He grew his hair out in the late 60's along with everyone else in the counterculture

I know my uncle was smoking cannabis back in the late 50's, so I'm sure Willie was as well.
