(65,230 posts)I do Need To Know & American Girl as solo acoustic pieces.
I'm a big fan as well.
My version of Runnin' is slightly slower, the arrangement is different & all my guitar parts differ.
I was paying homage, not doing an impression. But, it's such a good song I just had to do it.

(4,637 posts)This is one of my very favorites for in the car:
Ive probably made an ass of myself at stoplights, jamming out on my air drums and singing, but you cant just stop the groove like that. The intro is magic, too.

(65,230 posts)...just to toss me a bone & Give a little wow factor, I played both solos, guitar & keys, on that song.
While I played the guitar lead, the guitar player just played low growling notes on the Oberheim.
Took me over a week to get the guitar solo right. Took me a minute to get the synth solo down. Obviously, I was better on keys than guitar at that point.

(8,351 posts)I have a somewhat high stress job and live my life on the edge of chaos at times. There are days that I will listen to music to amp me up and face the day, my wife(always my rock and protector) will often send me a song to calm me down, as she knows that bringing too much energy too early is not always a good thing. More than a few of the songs she has sent to calm me are on this list. She knows if I am listening to Dropkick Murphys, AC/DC or anything to amp me, that she needs to get to me fast. She is amazing.

(4,637 posts)It was an hour and a half drive away and I was alone and terrified and uncertain of what would happen. Court is scary.
The whole ride down I cranked Rage Against the Machine to pump me up and give me confidence. Upon arrival, I realized that may have been a miscalculation. I was so amped and ready to throw down that I made myself sit in the car for another 20 minutes listening to Pink Floyd to mellow out a bit before going into the courthouse.
