(16,385 posts)A bunch of horses chewed up my car. What I like about it is that its reliable and has a manual transmission (2009 Nissan Versa).

(29,341 posts)I love that it's a manual and the most reliable car I've had. Outside of fluid changes and tires I haven't had to put any money into until last month when the clutch master cylinder had to be replaced. I had the front brakes done too (for the first time) but I class that under routine maintenance.
I hate that it's 14 and it's hard to find new manuals.

(130,532 posts)Can't think of anything to dislike about it. Saturn Vue.

(130,532 posts)I had another one before the Vue, and it was almost trouble-free as well. My only complaint about Saturns is that they stopped making them.

(6,890 posts)I acquired him in late 2016. He was 8. Bought and paid for.
Aka my Chevy Jeep
he is a 2008 Hummer H3
Color white.
He has never failed me and we have been PLACES!
From Route 66 in Missouri to the great PNW, to The Last Frontier (on a barge).
We are about to embark on an epic trip too.
Later this month, my friend will fly from KC, MO to Anchorage and we will drive south east on the Alcan, over the Canadian Rockies, down in to Montana and finally arrive back in KC, MO.
Love my rig. Hate nothing.

(60,612 posts). Only problem was I got a disc stuck inside. and on. Big Red was the perfect car. Only thing I didn't like about it was ==because of the height it barely fit in my garage and It had a tendency to be pushed sideways by the wind.

(6,270 posts)140k on the clock, 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, 6-speed manual, and it still sips gas and pulls to its 7k red line without complaint. Suspension remains tight. It has never left me stranded.
I'm not thrilled that premium fuel is the recommendation, but I knew that when I bought it. It doesn't rise to the level of hate.

(16,159 posts)I like the color and it's comfy. Not great gas mileage, but hopefully it will last as long as my last car that traveled 325,000 miles. Current wheels 2010 Mercedes GLK. Hate the cost of maintenance.

(9,390 posts)So nice in the winter. It takes w while for the car to warm up, the seats on the other hand, quick.

(60,612 posts)turn on the AC or heater. That was a great feature at the time. Don't know if I would us that now.

(6,135 posts)Its basically a Prius on steroids. 2016 with over 100k miles.
Big enough for family trips and work hauling but still gets good mileage. It has held up really well both in condition and style.
Handles amazingly. One time on the interstate, a truck ahead of me lost his drive shaft and I ran over it doing 75 miles an hour. Blew out 3 tires and bent 3 rims but she was steady as a rock. Never even left my lane. A lesser car would have been thrown off the road.
I am sold on Toyota going forward

(102,788 posts)I have two that I keep for different reasons, one is a kind of luxury-ish car and I like the fancy features, including the mechanics but I would get rid of it first if I had to. I was a professional driver for a time so I have demands of my vehicles that may exceed those of the regular driver.
But the true love of my life car is, Spudlette, my '92 4runner with 241K on it, bought her at 100K. I put some restorative work into her in the last two years and she runs so well that the other one has been sitting in the driveway all last month. (It has a pricey problem right now and I just don't feel like spending the cash on it right now.)
After spending a little on Spudlette I am getting a lot for the effort. I've replaced a few things but she has needed the least amount of maintenance of any car I have ever owned. The paint is still shiny and the upholstery is in great shape except for the driver's seat outer edge that I scraped off with my butt heaving myself up into the seat. It has a cover now. I knew she was a gem when I got her and I'm thankful I could hang on to her all these years as the second owner. My only vehicle for over a decade and we lived in the mountains for all of it. Been my salvation in a couple instances and she deserves to be kept up, my heir will inherit her and will probably be thrilled.

(40,575 posts)But i love the simplicity of setting the clock in my 17 year old Corolla. A button for the hour and a button for the minutes. Both only go Forward. Thats it.
Ive had other cars where you had to look in the owners manual every time you had to set the clock because the process was so freakin complicated. Set Function button to Function D by pressing it four times (if you can read that small number in the top left of your screen), hold down Set Time button with left hand while pushing function button once for Minutes or twice for Hours with right hand
. Just, no.
I love the size, the reliability, the gas mileage, and the simplicity of my car.

(25,313 posts)I just paid off the Forester.
I like 'em simple. This has no internet connectivity (which would fail in the mountains anyway, as cellular service is a whack-a-mole game.) But that's why we have cell phones.
I had a Toyota pickup for 20 years. I totally miss the pickup, but AWD on a pickup would have cost WAY more than on the SUV, and I don't have to worry about rain on the shopping.

(39,086 posts)a few years ago. They replaced the frame, rear springs and some other parts. I have made a couple minor
repairs myself. I also have a 2020 Honda CRV that hasn't had any problems. It has a CVT transmission that is OK
but I would rather have a conventional auto transmission.
Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)40+ mpg. on the highway. I also like the Smart Cruise Control. It's leaps and bounds ahead of the technology of the old cruise controls years ago.
What I don't like about is it could use a little more horsepower, but that would mean less gas mileage.

(10,104 posts)2011, its the same car the whole time they made them 2007 - 2012. Its comfortable (Im short), practical, lots of cargo space and everything works. The bad thing is theres a major blind spot to my left due to the very thick pillars; almost been in a couple accidents where the pillar totally obscured an oncoming car. Ive since been very careful and aware of it. Its also kind of noisy and the brakes squeal. But its totally paid for so Im keeping it til it dies or (possibly) we give it to my granddaughter for her first car when she turns 16 in 3 years.
