And I do regularly post videos for my fellow DUers who may be without cable or even TV and don't stay up as late as I do (though I sure miss the late night guys and their humor!), and I've not only been here since early 2003, but a lot of my posts were as a DU.2 mod and as a DU.3 host and then on MIRT. So I try to give back - and I appreciate all I've learned from everyone here more than I can say!

But I'm willing to be that neither of us will ever pass greataunt, since we're both following in her footsteps, so to speak... 
I still remember wondering if I'd ever reach 1000... 
I remember trying to get to that "1000+" designation that was used on DU2 and then looking forward to newyawker99 doing those milestone congrats when people got there!
And, as was said above, I know that not everyone here has cable or even TV, so I try to post important news. My first DU service was as an LBN mod back on DU.2, so I tend to post the videos that report the news of the day - and the late night humor when it's available, we sure could use that these days...

I can really keep up with the news in more detail with your posts.
And I have no idea where I could find them on my own!
Having been here as long as I have does have its advantages. I was fairly new to the internets when I first found DU (though I did work with a computer for my job), but over the years here (DU.1 in early 2003), I've gotten lots of practice. And one thing about DU, it's got to be the most user friendly site on the planet - I felt that from the beginning, but the admins are still always working on improvements.

Another DUer, fairly new to DU, asked about a segment by Rachel Maddow because she'd missed it. So, to be helpful, found what she was asking about and posted it - and it proved pretty popular, so I started posting other news segments and especially the late night comedy guys for those DUers who don't stay up as late as I do. With the news we had to deal with during the Covid/TFG years, we sure needed comedy here more than ever.
And when I was without internets one week in the mountains of Vermont, he was nice enough to cover for me - we couldn't disappoint those who don't stay up as late as we do. I'm told that some fans watch Colbert's monologue with their morning coffee.
I just did a Search. And that makes sense since we were particularly desperate for humor right about then. And Seth Meyers used to occasionally lead with "A Closer Look," but since TFG, he offers it just about every night. I used to like his "Ya Burnt!" but "A Closer Look" is much more political. And I also started posting "The Daily Show," too. And John Oliver on Sundays. Like I said, between TFG and Covid, we really could used all the comedy we can get - and TFG is not over yet... We sure miss them right now, I keep imagining what Colbert would have to say to put it all in perspective. *sigh*
I've actually been a little self conscious about my post count, though as I said, I've been a DU.2 mod and a DU.3 host and on MIRT which is responsible for the majority of them, not to mention my join date of February 2003 which was on DU.1.
But I really appreciate knowing I have friends here, that means a lot, and I'd reply to everyone, though that would send me on the way to my next Milestone, LOL. And thanks to my buddy, question everything, for the reminder - I might have missed it otherwise - not to mention the reminder that I've made friends here, truly the best site on the internets.
