Not a horrible way, but Grandpa Walton was a scoundrel on occasion. He once tricked another lumber company to take their lumber down the river, which had a multitude of sandbars in it, slowing the competitor down.
He was always trying to figure out how to get to the Baldwin's to get some of "The Recipe".
