Try replacing "twitter.com" in the URL with "nitter.net“ (leave out the quotation marks).

I just tried it with the Levar Burton tweet and it worked.

I'm not vouching for the site, I just learned of it this morning. Use at your own risk, yada yada yada ...

That said, it seems pretty popular on Reddit and I wasn't too worried about using it.

Nitter.net worked once for this link below and no longer works for anything.
