I think it has something to do with the drought, but they are much worse this year--

eating garden plants that nobody ever bothered in the past 12 years---

green beens, cucumbers and all the hot pepper plants! WTF!!!

And now I have a skunk frequenting my back yard,
in the last hour before dark....

Most of the damage I credit to rabbits and groundhogs, and one groundhog has been relocated.....

Something is wrong with skunks, why do they always look like a sick cat ??

lol

The gophers move, and we move some of the gadgets to their new holes.

The thing is, other critters seem to have also moved on, like the bunnies, which are cute but were eating the bark off my bushes. The noise does not bother the birdlife, nor our dog. The beeping sure does not bother me, either, as I object to poisons on the basis that they concentrate in predators and sicken or kill them as well.

As for the skunks — avoid them for all the obvious reasons, including the fact that they are a vector for rabies. Who knows — maybe they will also object to the gopher repellers and move away.
