Samsung S23.
Pretty nice phone.
I had an S10E, but the battery started to crap out. This is not good for me, because I have two medical monitoring apps on my phone. So I decided to bite the bullet and get a new one.
Got flirted with today by a good looking woman woman that's 5 years older than me. We told each other our ages during our chat. First time I've been flirted with in years.
Told my wife about it, and she said "Well, you don't wear your ring, you're gonna get flirted with".
So we got into a discussion about men wearing their rings. I don't wear mine because I work with power tools nearly every day, and I worry about a finger de-gloving. It turns out my brothers-in-law don't wear theirs either. That was news to me...I'm not sure why they don't wear theirs. I don't wear any jewelry, and I wear short sleeves all year long for fear of getting a sleeve caught in a saw or something.
Getting a new phone is very stressful to me, because it takes all day to set the medical apps up correctly, in addition to all of the other settings.
So now I'm sitting here listening to Ween.
Might eat a gummy later...not sure yet.
That's all the useless bullshit I have today.
You all have a wonderful evening.

(379 posts)As a young man forty years ago, my job took me to sawmills and furniture operations around North America. Cant tell you the number of men I met who were missing their ring finger. It made an impression.

Good luck setting up your new phone.

(35,176 posts)and there are some things I do not like about it, most of them are because I am dense about all of this but that camera? Holy cow. I still do not know how to use a lot of it but I can take the most beautiful pictures with it and videos too. Just for recording the rest of my life and my Granddaughter and the new one coming in September the phone has paid for itself just for that. It would easily handle medical aps. I am looking at a few of those now. Enjoy it and take some incredible pictures. Oh, the sound is pretty nice too. With a good set of headphones you are in good shape. Mine is connected to my ears a lot of the day while I work.

(59,522 posts)compared to the 10 year old LG it replaced.
But the bloatware! Looking at the home screen made me dizzy with all the apps! It took me hours to get rid of them!
I like it though. The camera is soooo much better.

(44,738 posts)brooks was awesome, deserves to be in the HOF. Mike had the glove and the bat. Schmidt was horrible offensively in the 83 World Series. Orioles whupped the Phils in 5. And, not a negative on him, but he had to put up with us Phillie fans who can be a collective pain in the ass.

Neither my wife nor I wear a wedding ring. Her engagement ring and our wedding rings are in a lockbox at the bank on the highway. Were pushing 50 years of marital bliss. I think well last.
Besides, I heard years ago when I needed a comb that wedding rings were chick magnets. Thats what I heard.

(10,806 posts)Their executives have already admitted that they turn on the microphone & camera at will.
They claim that it's for marketing purposes.
Yea, right. I'm betting they turn it on, when the owners are in bed doing who knows what.
The perverts!

(22,653 posts)I didn't want to make it obvious, so I put in a bunch of other words.
The stuff about the phone and the ring are camouflage for my humble brag.
Just joking...it was kind of just a run down of my thoughts at that moment.

(7,084 posts)We were not allowed to wear rings, or watched while working on equipment. I had a carved raised finger statue. First thing when getting to my workbench was to put the watch and ring on it before turning anything on.
Remove jewelry and loose items when using power equipment. Control long hair.
Safety first.
