The surgery was a success. The two leaks around my mechanical heart valve have been closed
off. The ONLIEST thing they were waiting on was for my blood thinner (Warfarin) INR test result
levels to rise back up to "therapeutic levels" -- meaning the drug would be capable of stopping
clots from forming but not so high as to make my internal organs start seeping blood (like rat
poison does).

"Therapeutic levels"... with a valve like mine... are 2.5 - 3.5. Post-surgically, mine had dropped
to 1.0 (I had to stop taking it 5 days before the procedure so that I wouldn't bleed out on the
table -- they substituted other stuff). It has been rising steadily and also consistently since
the surgery so they allowed me to go home with the level at 2.0 -- pretty safely assuming that
it will continue to rise. I have an appointment on Tuesday to make sure that has happened.

I feel good. Tired from the effects of the surgery, with some flashes of fairly normal energy
again. It's fucking HOT in this house (only an inefficient swamp cooler instead of A/C), but
it's HOME.

No tagteam bedbaths (after they've experienced those inhouse... it's hard to get them to
make solo home visits).

HERE's a funny for you!!! My top 4 or 5 go-to websites for funny pictures were blocked by
the hospital's WiFi filters for being "tasteless". I was pretty hampered in my searches by this.

But so proud. And my choices of websites were so professionally validated.

Thank ALL of you who sent your vibes and thoughts and prayers and companionship during
a time that I really needed them. This site has some pretty wonderful human beings as
participants, there can BE no doubt about that.

Been a little dull...well my life always is, but not enough posts here to laugh over, or do the old "eye roll" of "he's gotta be kidding, right?"
We did have some local excitement. Our public works director got a little drunk, and am sure someone nudged him quite a bit, but he took off with another guy and he shot through the door of one of our released locally sex offenders. So now he's unemployed, up on charges of terrorism and in general s.o.l. Sad thing is sober he is one of the kindest persons you could ever meet. I'ld say your last week went better than his eh?
