how come I can hear youtube videos using firefox, but not IE??

I've been fightimg with it for weeks. I gave up and switched to Chrome.

Have windows 7. I listen to YouTube all the time, no problems. It may be a setting, perhaps?

My s/o loves him some firefox. So he installed it on my computer. It fucked up EVERYTHING. I shitcanned it right away, went back to IE. No further problems. IMO, Firefox sucks.
