No reaction whatsoever from the first one, but I have heard many say the second one was different and they had some aches and pains. My wife got her second one last week and the day after she had some mucular pain in her upper body. Next day she was fine.
I guess I can handle that if it happens, but I have never had any reaction to any vaccine at all, so maybe I will get lucky.
Update: So I'm having a little bit of muscular pain in my upper body, mostly in the arm that got the injection. I took some Ibuprofen and feel okay. If this is as bad as it gets, it's no big deal.

(2,153 posts)No issues. Hope the same for you.
My wife and I are very different when it comes to medical issues. Makes me almost feel guilty, but she's a retired RN, so she understands.

(10,175 posts)I did have a very mild case of shingles about 30 years ago. Wouldn't wish it on a republican. It was on my upper arm. I can't imagine how people who get it in the eyes or genitals bear the pain.

(3,159 posts)It beats the crap out of having shingles though. I had that on my back, right near my shoulder blade. It felt like road rash. My wife had it way worse. She was in bed for a week. We both got our vaccines now, so hopefully no more. I'm glad yours went well!

(6,633 posts)And as of late it seems as though I have a bad few days after every vaccine! So, my body seems to be getting more sensitive to these things as I age. Hoping that your body isnt as sensitive as mine! But at least we stand a good chance of not getting shingles!

(24,906 posts)my wife and I spaced ours a week apart so that if one had a bad reaction, the other would be well enough to care for them and make them as comfortable as possible.

And after her going through a few surgeries, I'm pretty good at taking care of her, too.

(24,906 posts)but only if I touch it. But like I said, my wife didn't hurt until the next day.

(14,994 posts)it's totally worth it.
It's better than having shingles of the trigeminal nerve, then the added bonus of post-herpetic neuralgia. I know from experience.
