Either my right side or my stomach.

(16,512 posts)Either right or left, not sure if I favor one more than the other.
Sleeping on my stomach would make my back rather unhappy, and sleeping on my back would make anyone in my vicinity unhappy, due to the amount of snoring that would ensue!

(36,509 posts)Years ago I read an article on aging & wrinkles & there are eight types of wrinkles. I don't recall most of them but the last one was sleep wrinkles. They are the deepest wrinkles & happen over a lifetime of sleeping with your face squashed against a pillow. After I read this, I noticed a wrinkle developing under my left eye & I slept mostly on my left side so I bought a different pillow & tried sleeping more on my back or right side. FYI, the worst position for sleep wrinkles is sleeping on your stomach.

For me, it's always flat on my back. Often with my legs folded like what we used to call "Indian Style".

(102,357 posts)But, if I am REALLY tired (and only if really tired), I can sleep on my back or even mostly sitting up in a chair. Sleep is a priority for me, but if feels like I can never get enough.

(1,041 posts)With my head turned right. Always have. And, yes, this old lady has an asymmetrical face of wrinkles, more wrinkled on the left which is against the pillow. Too late now. I think I will get some sleep.

(47,565 posts)I start like Im laying down in my coffin, then all bets are off. I probably flip over at least a dozen times or more during the night. I will say I never wake up on my back. Its one side or the other, whether straight-legged or fetal.

(7,659 posts)There are occasions that I start out on my left side.
I must roll around like a bad apple since I always wake up on my back.

(16,386 posts)I used to sleep prone until I started having babies and was instructed to sleep on my left side, as it's supposed to be healthier for both the fetus and mom. Now, that was a long time ago, but I never went back to prone. I also fall asleep watching my laptop and it's a terrible habit.

(31,402 posts)for the same reason 37 years ago. After my first hip replacement 16 years ago, I started sleeping propped up and returned to that for the knee replacement in 2017 and then the other hip replacement in 2018. Now, I alternate between my left side and propped up, but if I go to sleep on my left side, I always seem to wake up flat on my back now, which I never did up until the last couple of years.

(16,386 posts)Fortunately, it was on my right side. I also slept propped up for a while.
