(4,603 posts)but I don't care for blue vehicles, shirts, etc.
Also, as a residential Realtor/Broker for 25+ years, I found most buyers didn't want to try to decorate around blue colors. I agreed 100%.

(62,559 posts)I bought my mom one of these for her birthday: https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1756390/1979-ford-thunderbird-for-sale-in-addison-illinois-60101 .
It was 12 years old, but it was in perfect condition, and she wanted it. She loved the combination of sky blue and white.
It was certainly easy to spot in parking lots. And she always got compliments on it, including from teenagers carrying her groceries out to the car.
She kept it for years, finally sold it to a guy who planned to show it.
Since then I've felt sky blue with white is great for cars.
Also ice blue. My sister had an ice blue Austin-Healey like this one:

(130,810 posts)Some colors don't do as well as others on particular things (interior decorating colors of the '70s, for example - orange and avocado green are not OK on carpeting or appliances), but all colors in the abstract are beautiful. Orange is great on flowers; avocado green works on - avocados. I love green; it's the color of life. If you go into the woods there are more shades of green than you can count.
In any art form painting, weaving, knitting, embroidery
any form to exclude a color would be losing a whole palate that accents brighter colors or mutes them.
color combinations when used by the trained eye

(26,966 posts)Done mostly B&W drawing in past 25 yrs. Would like paint with physical paints again.
I love in various degrees the fully saturated color spectrum, printer's magenta, along with some favorite shades, and pastels.
Perhaps some greyed greens, and greyed beiges would be distasteful to me.

Which is why I like a dusky pink, or dusky violet. Also a dark shaded purple. Olive.

(34,189 posts)It was my spoiled little sister's color so she had purple everything. Once my two older sisters left for college and I got the "big" bedroom, I wanted to paint it blue. It was vetoed since it was to be my little sister's in five years and she wanted it purple. So I got the live in a purple room for five years.
Plus relatives who couldn't remember what I liked gave me purple stuff all the time. For my high school graduation some gave me a whole desk set all in purple. Guess who got to keep it?
When I say "purple" I include all the shades and values of the color, from lavender to deep dark purple. It just brings up so many unhappy memories of childhood.

(1,230 posts)The chalky pepto-pink feels seasick and squishy, totally nausea-inducing.
Chartreuse is so loud it makes my head ache, which can become nausea-inducing, with auras.
Orangey reds are blood & fire, war & destruction, unending fighting. Chaos. PTSD. Despair.
Its not the fault of the colors, its the way I feel them.
Seems Im wired that way.
My olive complexion may have something to do with it, too.
Some colors just dont go with me.
