2. Picking a favorite sandwich is nearly impossible for me

Today, however, I’m having deli roast beef with pepper jack cheese, horseradish, lettuce, tomato, onion & a pickle spear. On multigrain bread.

And some Albert Hein honey mustard salad dressing.
On a grilled brioche bun if possible, otherwise just plain white

4. All-time favorite was the Cheesecake Factory's Grilled Eggplant sandwich.

It had garlic aoli and melted mozzarella on it, I forget what else... it was soooooo good. They don't have it anymore.

made with Best Foods mayo, celery, sweet relish, green onion on Nuts & Seeds bread.

Tomorrow may be Swiss cheese, mayo & mustard, romaine lettuce on N&S bread.

Then there's roast beef & swiss, Reubens, waiting in the wings.

Too many favorites.

Consisting of fried plantain, rice, black beans, pico dillo, salad and some protein (usually fish chicken or pork).

The second national food is, indeed, pizza.

The food is considered “bland” and a standard joke goes as follows:

20. BLT with summer garden tomatoes

On sourdough white toast and Hellman’s Mayo.
When it’s not tomato season I like the Pennsylvania Dutch specialty, fried Lebanon baloney on toast or a roll.

light-fat mayo (Hellmann's) and garlic pickles.

Nothing terribly inspiring but tasty.

27. My husband makes a most excellent Reuben. Grilled. I love sauerkraut! With a Mexican Coca-Cola.

PB & jam is always easy and good. Crunchy or smooth PB, either one works. I made some cherry jam last week that works well with both. With a tall glass of very cold 2% milk.

I also like deli sliced turkey on rye/pumpernickel bread with lettuce, tomato, very thinly sliced onion, and some potato chips for crunch. Pickles on the side.

Anybody else getting hungry on this thread?

28. Give me a thick, gooey grilled cheese

Grilled in butter with a thick slice of tomato inside and dill pickles on the side. In cold weather, add a bowl of tomato soup. Oh my that's good!
