Friday Night Rum Buzz. Ask me anything.

Enjoying an Acapulco tonight: rum, Cointreau, simple syrup, lime juice, and an egg white. It’s my first attempt at a cocktail using egg. I like it.

The drink is delightfully frothy and smooth due to the egg white. I’ll probably have this one again.

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.

I love you all…

Whatever you enjoy is what you should be drinking. ‘Drinking together’ shouldn’t have to mean alcohol for everyone.

Flags at half staff? Federal requirements? Rest I believe are choice.

Choice of brew…a couple Natty Daddies. 8% brew. And a few pipes of good stuff.

And he has the physique to prove it.

But the biggest risk factor for coronary artery disease is smoking. If he was a smoker in addition to a fast food junkie, he would have croaked from a heart attack long since.

Met through younger brother.
Son of mason who, during reconnaissance in WWII, jumped with failed parachute into manure pile and spent 6 months in hospital.
We played broomball as a team. We ran White Mountains to lead the team. We tested intellectually.
We laughed at the stupidity in a game of poker.
We did peyote buttons.

We got to reminisce while he grimaced. We had climbed rocks together.

He admitted it was hard. Said, hadn't been there.

Eyes failing, reading done. He has pictures of our gang.

Put them in a file and send them. What else are you going to do?

You're right. Maybe I'll try.

Great experience for both of us.

Before I go stark raving mad with this weird floaty in my eye?

I woke up with it on Tuesday. I have exceptional vision so when something goes wrong, I freak out thinking I'm going blind. Eyes and teeth, serious biz.

Went to optometrist this morning and was reassured that it not serious and will go away, but it could be months. If it gets worse, go back, not expected to get worse. I was also told my eyes are actually quite healthy and I haven't declined much from my stellar 20/13 overall vision.

But it's just to the right of center in my right eye and it's very distracting. I'll buy new shades of there's the slightest scratch anywhere on the lens. This could get weird.

They are in the vitreous humor in the posterior chamber of the eye, and the vitreous humor is never renewed over the lifetime. The aqueous humor in the anterior chamber is replaced roughly every ninety minutes.

That attended my diagnosis. He was very nice and informative, I felt much less stress about it. But trying to see around it sucks.

I could see the anomaly in the images they took, but the rest of my eye is fine, little shrinkage, which is unusual for my age I guess. He was enthusiastic about that part. I was happily surprised. But the condition is often a product of aging.

Oh well, I have to start falling apart eventually. So I guess I didn't do anything to make it happen, also a relief. Have to see how I am handling it in a week or two.

I had a small fall cross-country skiing. Flashes subsided. Ophthalmologist said my retina was ok. The debris is bad. The floaters make me see things running on the floor, black birds in the sky. Hard to ignore. Getting old is a challenge. Glad I’m here to try.

Bugatti’s designs are quite a bit more eccentric and memorable.
