I remember being just exhausted by the heat that summer ('88 or '89) - hasn't been quite that bad since.

somewhere around 1990 and the temp was 107.

And I recall that the Minnesota state record for THI was 137 (note that is THI) in Moorhead a few years ago when daughter #1 was living in Minneapolis - she's been gone from there for 5 or so years. Minneapolis hit a THI of @120 that day.

Fortunately these days are pretty infrequent up this way.

having a heck of a time finding any stories about that THI record.

and the day we arrived it was 104. We're Pac NW people and we had left about 65 degree temps and wondered if we would survive or turn into bubbling pools of protoplasm. The next day it was in the mid-90s, and it actually felt cooler, and it was no problem doing the 60 or so miles we had - particularly with all of that tasty corn and the church bake-off PIE.

Here NYC I'd say anything below 25°F, definitely below 20°F is close quote occasionally to rare-ish.

We have had some summers with maaaaybe 30%+ over ? 90°F, ? 8% over 95°F. 100°+F maaaaybe 3-5 days at most w/o the ?heat index stuff.

We rarely get above ?2 ft of snow in the last 8 - 10 yrs.

If I remember correctly at least until now The Atlantic Ocean acts both as a warming influence in the he Winter and cooling influence in the Summer.

Add that to the oppressive humidity, and it's miserable.

Too damn hot to do my yard work. I don't know how people down south stand the heat.
