My A/C has been out since last Wednesday and won't be replaced until Friday. It has been in the 90s all week. Today, 94 F with zero chance of rain. We've been roasting. About five minutes ago a beautiful rain shower just opened up right above my little town. Cool wind and rain from the heavens. I threw open our windows and it feels wonderful.

(16,990 posts)She just told me the same thing on FB, that she was envious of our rain. I know it's so hot and humid there right now.

(16,990 posts)It stays cool in the house until around 10:00 a.m. Hopefully, just one more day of heat. The day we are supposed to get our new A/C, Friday, the high is supposed to be 75 F. I may not even need the A/C again for a while.

Next time in Jax, go a bit south to St Augustine. Historic downtown and great beaches on the island.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
