WTAF! Apparently this is a real animal (Twitter and YouTube videos)

A sifaka is a lemur of the genus Propithecus from the family Indriidae within the order Primates. The name of their family is an onomatopoeia of their characteristic "shi-fak" alarm call. Like all lemurs, they are found only on the island of Madagascar.

and was the mascot for the Kratt Brothers "Zooboomafu" while it was on public TV.

They also had a repllca and used animation so they wouldn't be abusing a real animal.

No, I wasn't a kid then, in fact I was over 50, I just liked the way the Kratt brothers thought.
