Two shots of vodka to get the party started. Now a Honolulu Lulu. Light and dark rum, Kahlua, Frangelico, lime juice, and simple syrup. Yummy.
Absolutely thrashed after a crazy, overscheduled day in clinic. Bright side: I visited with a lot of nice, wonderful patients who like and trust me, and remind me why I got into this in the first place.
Im beat. Going to drink and relax a bit.
I love you all. More than you can ever know.

(26,091 posts)Here's my question: Have you ever had another celebrity on the level of George Takei or even more famous give you oxygen on social media?
Aristus
(71,876 posts)IRL however, I once had dinner with world-renowned fantasist Harlan Ellison. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Spellbinding storyteller and a riveting personality.

(60,836 posts)your witty DU post got so much attention! I hope you've saved screenshots including the best replies. Have them printed and framed.
I'll bet Harlan Ellison would have loved what you wrote!

(71,876 posts)To those who didnt know him, he was a bad-tempered, profane curmudgeon who hated everyone and everything.
To those who met him, he was charming, brilliant, loyal, and a steadfast defender of human rights and the power of an untamed mind.

(71,876 posts)Enjoying a nutty Martini. Vodka, Frangelico, and instead of the usual orange bitters, I substituted chocolate bitters instead.
Buzzing wonderfully and no longer feeling the pain. Have a glorious weekend, and keep posting. Im still here.

(9,851 posts)Best I've felt all week. My van is finally out of the shop after 2 weeks (replaced engine cooling fan assembly, mostly covered under warranty, thank heavens, no small consideration here in GA where it's supposed to be 97 tomorrow!)

(130,475 posts)sorry you had such a rough day at the clinic. How many more til your new job?
We are all so proud of you for so many reasons, but today is special. . .George Takei quoted you! How cool is that!! We have a celebrity in our midst! Can I have your autograph? (any old blank check will do)
Question of the night: I have a choice tomorrow night between a jazz trio at a new, somewhat trendy bar, or Mozart, at a church ( and yes, some churches still let me in, silly them!) Side note: a friend does the costumes for the opera company.
(I just saw your response about starting your new job in November! I thought it was rightaafter Labor Day. Some delay??)
Aristus
(71,876 posts)Second: Tough call. Jazz or Mozart? A cruel choice. What piece by Mozart? That may help.
I moved the start-date back. If providers dont give three months notice, they lose their saved holiday pay. For me, thats about two months salary. Im not losing that to those profit-crazed drones.
niyad
(130,475 posts)(I really should read the fine print!). Will have to think. . the acoustics in that venue are terrible.
Of course you cannot lose two months' pay to those greedy jerks. They steal enough as it is..
Aristus
(71,876 posts)And I wish you the Letter Aria from The Marriage Of Figaro for your enjoyment and your reminder of the beauty of human potential.
