(7,309 posts)And Nancy McKeon, well, actually just on her character Jo on Facts of Life. As a young femme lesbian, I didn't have many butch women to crush on. Just Ralph on Green Acres, lol. Yeah, not her.

(72,187 posts)Naturally, I didn't watch "Taxi Driver" until I was an adult.
But I liked the intelligence, strength, and character she brought to each of her roles. She has only gotten better as an adult.

Im a straight guy, so I never thought someone like Tim Considine would be considered attractive. He looked ordinary to me.
That works for me, though. Im an ordinary looking guy who married a goddess. So its all good.

(6,927 posts)And then, if you set the Wayback Machine to 1921, there's Jackie Coogan's performance in the titel role of Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid".

Interesting that Coogan would (much) later play the part of Uncle Fester in "The Addams Family" TV series. I've read that he drew upon his own experience as a child actor to mentor Lisa Loring, taking steps to ensure that her earnings from her role as Wednesday were preserved for her to collect later as an adult.

(24,906 posts)She's about the same age as me and I always had a crush on her.
For a male actor, Ron Howard. He looks enough like me to be a member of my family. I suppose he has been the most successful child actor in his adult life. He seems to be a very decent person, too.

(25,475 posts)Not household names like a lot of the mentions here from when we all watched the same TV channels... Shameless was on Showtime.
Ethan Cutkosky played Carl Gallagher and Emma Kenney played Debbie Gallagher. They were both about 10 when the series started. The storyline was about a dysfunctional family. Mostly drama (although its called comedy/drama.) Some heavy situations came up in the show. I always thought all of the young actors in this show played their parts incredibly well.

(18,567 posts)Well, she was 13 when she started in "Lost in Space," and though I was a few years younger, I had the hots for her anyway. Before I even knew what "hots" were. So, she was a child actress, but I liked her for un-childlike reasons.
The obscure one-season TV show "Hank," which ran in 1965-66, had an actress named Katie Sweet who played Hank's kid sister, and I absolutely adored her, but she never worked after 1967, and I only remember her name through the glory of the Internet.

(18,567 posts)One of her album covers has a very grown-up picture of her which would rival most pinups.
Her sister Veronica is also an actress, who has a much deeper resume (and three Primetime Emmy nominations).

(4,741 posts)Super-annoying, most of the time.
I always preferred the adults.
I guess if I had to pick one...
Boy: Whoever played Peter Brady. I thought he was cute and his character seemed to be a normal kid, without being annoying or bratty about it.
Girl: Whoever played Marcia Brady. I wanted to be Marcia, so badly, LOL. Behind her sweet and feminine facade, she was tough as steel and knew how to get what she wanted. She wasn't afraid of competing with boys, either. She didn't get many of those moments in the show, but when she did, she made the most of them.
