(61,732 posts)My entire kitchen is splashed with red accessories! It cheers up the ambience. I read once that Chinese restaurants are furnished in red to increase the appetite!! Not sure if thats true, though. 😉
There is no such thing as too much red.

(23,763 posts)All the cars I have ever had were either white or various shades of grey. I am so bored!
Currently car hunting, and would love to find that blue or a nice red.

As a trained fine & commercial artist here's my opinion; using a stantard colorwheel & box you fine on digital art etc apps. I think it'd be easier w paint chips bc our eyes receive light through a screen differently. Obviously we can't do that. 😄
In the first box the top is a pure what i consider turquoise, it also is close to "printer's Cyan" a blue green, one of the three colors plus black that make up the majority of 4 color (or full) color printing.
Below it is a shaded version (slide the full saturated color picker downward).
The next one is what I consider teal. Somewhat subtle difference. On the colorwheel sliders (red/green/blue) where you adjust any, one, two, or all 3 to get 100,000's or more colors - the green slider is about 3x's more than the blue.
I then took the shaded cyan and added it to the bottom half of box #2.
Finally just for contrast box #3 is what I'd consider close to a grass green.
Anyway I'm going to see if I can grab a color wheel for digital art for you to see.

(2,889 posts)I am instinctively drawn to the color and first came across it in an art museum.

(7,215 posts)I go back and forth on which one.
My front door is dark olive green and front room wall and bottom kitchen cabinets midnight blue. It's cozy moody, like me.
Aqua I like at night in the spa lights...it reminds me of the northern lights.

(131,231 posts)For example, I like orange on fall foliage but I don't like it on carpeting. I love most greens but since I don't look good in certain shades of green, I don't have a lot of green articles of clothing. I like purple as a color for flowers and sunsets but not on the siding of my house.

(27,319 posts)(Life forbid) put a gun to my head I'd say: printer's magenta on paper. It often looks different as a digital color.
4 color printing process =
Cyan, Magenta, Yellow + Black
[img]
[/img]
*My favorite colors*
Saturated:
printers' magenta, red-purple, violet, electric royal blue (a Prismacolor colored pencil), turquoise, apple green, chartreuse, cadmium yellow medium, yellow-orange, vermilion, red
Shades:
golden ocher, rust red, rust orange, olives
Pastels:
pale and very pale apple green
"..............."......."..... chartreuse
"..............."......."..... magenta
"..............."......."..... orange (becomes peach colors)
somewhat pale violet

(23,763 posts)The dark jewel tone colors work best for me
Purple and deep green are also good.
Yellow unless more toward the buttery shades is a no.
lighter versions of purple and green don't work either

(3,391 posts)How do you choose a favorite part of the visible spectrum? Its like picking a favorite note or chord in music. Some may feel more pleasant to the ear when isolated, but its how they (chords and notes) all work together that makes music enjoyable. The same goes for the color spectrum
for me, anyway. Its wonderful that our eyes allow most of us to enjoy the color spectrum, isnt it?!
Of course, my answer to your question is usually green. (That helps to avoid going down the above rabbit hole during a conversation!). The base color of plants, without which life as we know it on this planet would not exist.

(4,658 posts)The emerald coast, and its beautiful. Otherwise I would say most colors you see in nature .you cant wear them or paint your walls with them. All you can do is look for them and appreciate them as they are.
