What happened to Jeopardy tonight?

Here on the west coast they showed a repeat. For the past few days, they have shown new episodes. Suddenly, they are back to repeats again? It may have something to do with the writers' strike, but no explanation was given.

The ones they showed on my station were repeats, starting with his second win.

This site says he lost on Sept 16, 2022 https://www.law.edu/news-and-events/2022/alumni/2022-0928-alum-news-de-guzman-jeopardy.html

I guess that makes sense, but the Direct TV guide said it was a new season, and Jennings announced it as a new season just a couple of days ago. Also, even when there are repeats, they show them in chronological order. Luigi won last night, so he should have been on tonight. But thanks for the link above.

I don't know why they weren't in order. Maybe they are episodes with contestants that will be in the second chance tournament?

I just looked at my deleted recordings and xfinity listed the 9/6 show with Luigi as Season 39, Episode 2. Repeat. 9/13/2022. The 9/7 show was listed as S39 E8, a repeat from 9/21/2022. Tonight will be S39, E15, from 9/30/2022.

I noticed my DirectTV guide skips all over the place too, so you're probably on to something. The only thing is, usually Jeopardy is pretty upfront about when they're showing repeats, special episodes or whatever. I don't remember ever being confused about what they were doing before. But maybe the reason (strike) is seen as controversial, so they don't want to address it. GO UNION, by the way!
