Canadian football, candle-pin bowling, etc. They evoke emotions of simple enjoyment, entertainment, community, relaxation.

In the U.S., everything is bloodsport. Do-or-die. Ultimate survival. Crush your opponent.

I hate it here.

I want to move to Canada.

This was thirty years ago. Off duty, I explored the Canadian Army camp where we were stationed. They had a candle pin bowling alley. And I thought candle pin bowling was the coolest, most laid-back thing ever.
