There are only so many stories you can tell with the same characters

MASH was one that bugged me

The first five seasons were great (that was how long the show was supposed to be, the extent of the original story) but they kept going. There were some great moments and occasional story arcs in next nine (! I think it was nine) seasons, but it just wasn’t the same. There was a lot of crap, too. But I still love my boys and Charlie.

After awhile, I was rooting for the zombies.

And why hasn't Darryl washed that hairpiece in 10 years? It's so nasty it never moves when he rides the motorcycles.

In TWD, it's supposed to express Daryl's depressed and don't give a shit attitude in the zombie apocalypse, but Norman wore it the same way when he modeled (for Prada and others). He has his own show now called "Ride with Norman Reedus" in which he goes on motorcycle explorations around the world with various guest stars and his hair looks the same (just clean). (The latest episode of that was Norman and Keanu Reeves on motorcycles cruising around the Utah desert. A fun segment of that was when they visited a dog rescue that teaches dogs how to be part of a sled team.) Anyhow, he's just a nice guy with messy hair, same as Daryl, only Daryl is a lot grumpier (for good reason). There's a new spinoff from TWD featuring Daryl that just started on Sunday, too. Sorry to go on. I just actually like both Daryl and Norman.

It's his real hair, and hey, it's working for him. He's married to the lovely Diane Krueger, and he gets to do things he wants to do. I wouldn't change it either!

ABC's interference ruined a great show that Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindeloff wanted to end much sooner. They were doing the best they could with what they were given when JJ Abrams just lost interest and walked away from what he'd started to work on his Star Trek films instead. And ABC insisted on milking it dry. They should have let Lindeloff do what he wanted to do with the show.

I lost interest in it after a few years, but my sister was a loyal viewer. She had me watch on a visit a few years ago and oh, my. Unwatchable to me, but it apparently still has fans.

Criminal Minds, Bones, ER, I'm sure there are more. Even MASH was not as great at the end. Some shows go on too long.

It ran for 12 seasons but, for me at least, it declined after the tenth season when Kam Fong (Chin Ho Kelly) left. I guess, as so often is the case with networks, CBS didn't want to cancel a show as long as it was a hit.

They could have easily ended the show after eight seasons and 170+ episodes and wrapped it up nicely. Instead, seasons nine and ten were tedious while 11 and 12 were unnecessary. And don't even get me started on the manner in which they ended it.

It’s still ok but the first ten seasons they were at the top of their game. I think it’s in its 33rd or 34th season now.
