I never got an allowance large enough to purchase many albums. Later, after marriage, I had other priorities. I still listen
to the radio and CDs/DVDs but rarely find a whole album by any single group or individual I'd confess to totally enjoyment every track. I'm not a dancer, and I like to hear music I enjoy (in many eclectic genres) in the background.

I didn't even know! Oct 31! For the albums 30th Anniversary!

Deluxes bc
WN Dlx has the pivitol Lifehouse song ~
"Pure and Easy" on it!
(you can hear the opening of P&E at
the end of WN's The Song Is Over)
[Quadrophrenia, Tommy close choices]

AB Dlx wil have a lot of the B sides (Lady With The Spinning Head) and recorded but ?not officially issued songs (that I also love, and found online about 17 yrs ago?) like "Blow Your House Down"!
[NLOTH close choice]

************************
Well, if you're going to add more than 1 or 2 ... I'd add:
•Springsteen - probably Darkness on the Edge of Town (w Born to Run, and Magic close choices)
•The Patti Smith Group - probably Land (1975 - 2000) contains a lot of my favorites [single album probably Dream of Life]
•Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust

(Lucky for me I've seen all these bands multiple times!)
*******************************
Music albums (non songs)
.
Structures from Space - Steve Roach
a slowly changing set of a melody
Sonorous, deeply relaxing

Variations for Winds, Strings and Keyboards -
Steve Reich
A bright minimalist work Reminds me of Mid-Spring unfolding

Fantastic live album by Yes, which is effectively a greatest hits up to that point. If not that, Reach The Beach by The Fixx, or Beat by King Crimson
Close to the top are Scary Monsters by Bowie, Little Creatures by Talking Heads, & Surfing With The Alien by Satriani.

U2: The Unforgettable Fire (I still hear new things, every time I listen)
The Smiths: Hatful of Hollow
Echo & the Bunnymen: Ocean Rain (An absolute masterpiece, start to finish)
INXS: The Swing (My heart aches every time I hear your voice, Michael)
R.E.M. : Life's Rich Pageant (It's a pistol hot cup of rhyme, y'all!)
The Cure: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (I love all the Cure's albums, but this one....is a step above)
Madonna: Confessions on a Dance Floor (I don't care about the haters! I love Madonna, and her brilliant later work is ignored by a sexist and ageist music industry and society!)
XTC: Skylarking (Two musical and lyrical geniuses at the height of their powers)
Beethoven: Symphony #9 as recorded by Otto Klemplerer ( Werner Klemperer's - also known as Col. Klink - dad!) The single greatest musical achievement in human history.

(the best US and the best UK punk albums ever IMHO)

Minor Threat: American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C. formed in 1980 and disbanded in 1983.

Minor Threat - Complete Discography (FULL ALBUM)

Label: Dischord Records – DISCHORD 40, Dischord Records – Dischord 40
Format: CD, Compilation, $9 From Dischord, Blue Cover
Country: US
Released: 1989
Genre: Rock
Style: Hardcore, Punk

Cock Sparrer - Shock Troops (1983)

Cock Sparrer is an English punk rock band formed in 1972 in the East End of London. Although they have never enjoyed commercial success, they helped pave the way for the early '80s punk scene and the Oi! subgenre. Their songs have been covered by many punk, Oi!, and hardcore punk bands. Their style is influenced by pub rock, glam rock and raw 1960s beat music as delivered by bands like the Small Faces and The Who. Their lyrics mostly deal with topics related to the daily lives of working class people. Their name derives from their original name, Cock Sparrow, a Cockney term of familiarity.

Although Chris de Burgh is Irish, he's hugely popular in Germany, which is where my Dad 'discovered' him on a business trip. He brought home some of his albums, including this one, and it made me a fan forever.

The music on the album reminds me of my own time in Germany, and makes me miss the place every time I listen.
