The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMany album covers are designed to go with the album and music within. What is your favorite album
cover? Please include the name of the group. Again any genre or time.
Some covers are like pieces of art themselves.

(28,264 posts)(They never *named* it "the White Album".) Since they couldn't agree on a name, they just left it white, so that's what everybody called it.
Those were some difficult days for them as a band.

(113,971 posts)Early in John Denver's career before all his later major hits (2nd or third early album, I think), he released
"Aerie" and the song of the same name so well encapsulated seeing a bald or golden eagle in the Colorado backcountry--as did the album cover below. Whenever I see an eagle now, I think of him and that song.

The album is about a restless night and odd dreams a man has during a break up with his partner. All the song titles (except one) are pictured or somehow represented in the artwork.
People noticed and complained that The Horse was not represented so heres the cover of their next studio album:

Addition:
That made me want to hear The Horse, its been awhile.
It goes together with another song calked Silent in the Morning.

This is from the legendary Halloween show where they played the entire White Album as their musical costume.

Great album, too, with tasteful guitar from Snowy White.

(5,393 posts)We had a giant poster of that in my house at college. It freaked a lot of people out, lol!
My bf had worked in record shops and collected many very cool, gigantic posters.

Second is artwork by Phil Travers, best known for his Moody Blues album artwork. Here's my favorite:
