(40,969 posts)All kinds but peach. IMO, apple is best with Jonathan's but they are hard to find in my area & the season is super short. I cheat & buy frozen crust unless I'm making a double crust pie cuz I've never gotten the frozen ones to work well as an upper crust.
Have you ever made a pecan pie with real maple syrup instead of Karo? Oh man...

Replace one jigger of the milk with same amount of booze. Bourbon or dark rum both work

(16,985 posts)It's made with butter and egg like hollandaise sauce is, so it's finicky but amazing!

(14,371 posts)My dad used to call it "calorie pie"
I have a recipe for a chocolate chip pecan pie that a friend christened "sinful pie" many years ago and it will forever be known by that name.
#2 would be apple. Pumpkin is WAY down the list. Once I made butternut squash pie and nobody knew it!

(15,140 posts)It was not too sweet and not sour a bit, just the correct apple tangy. She always covered the pie with a full crust with those squiggly vents cut into the top.
Most people would top the piece of pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. YUM
