(4,780 posts)4. It probably has to do with the fact that YouTube pays creators per view not length.
One view on a 10 second video to them is the same as one view on a 1 hour video.

(24,748 posts)5. The only possible way to circumvent them is go to the filters and change duration...
There's choices including "under 4 minutes" and "4-20 minutes"... it's not perfect as some songs are under 4 minutes.
The shorts are annoying. I guess it's youtube competing with tiktok.
