(5,126 posts)But I had a fever. It broke last night, so if it isn't COVID I should be non-contagious by tomorrow.
I have a COVID test in front of me, but dreading taking it. Because that will put me out for 10 days.
Fingers crossed.
Have had all shots and 2 boosters, but hadn't got the booster for the new strain yet.

(363 posts)I'm undecided, I kinda want to see it and if I do I want to see it in a theater.

(5,126 posts)I think there are reasons it was told from a particular POV and it's sounding like Dicaprio will get another Oscar, maybe De Niro too.
I feel the subject matter is important enough, it should get out to the widest audience.
BUT some day it would be good to see it from the Native POV, but that will require even more work with the Osage to accurately portray how horrible this offense added to all the others really is.

(14,375 posts)It really needed to be a 4-6 episode miniseries as it is really long but some details and backstory are needed.

(791 posts)Very powerful movie, I was in tears from the first scene and the last scene in the movie was very moving. Robbie Robertson went out on a banger of a soundtrack

(2,295 posts)But I'm going to have to make an exception for this one. Based on having read the fabulous and powerful source book, I am even suppressing some of my dismay at the remarkable PR campaign and hype.

I am much more of a film guy than she is, and I have never been disappointed in a Scorsese film. This was very powerful and a well woven story. I appreciated that the shot framing started as very wide and epic, and as the film went on to the FBI in act 3 (sorry if that feels kind of spoilery, but you knew they were coming) it is a much more intimate film.
See it in the theatre. Seeing the shots in full screen and getting the sound system of a theatre experience is worth it.
