(17,757 posts)When we lived in the burbs, I would make up as a scarecrow and sit in a rocker on the front porch....real still. When the little kids came up, I just sat there and they took me for a dummy. (smart kids). When they rang the doorbell my wife and kids would pass out the candy. When the kids that were too old to be trick-or-treating came up, I would wait for them to ring the doorbell and reach out and grab them. I scared the living hell out of a lot of 15 year olds.
Now we live out in the woods, with a locked gate at the road, so no more trickers or treaters. I just hope that my damn mailbox is still there tomorrow...I go through a lot of mailboxes...
