I wanna be with all the kanes and wahines that I knew long ago
I can hear old guitars a-playin' on the beach at Hōnaunau
I can hear Hawaiians sayin' "Komo mai no kaua i ka hale welakahao"
It won't be long 'til my ship will be sailin' back to Kona
A grand ol' place that's always fair to see (yessiree)
Well I'm just a little Hawaiian and a-homesick island boy
I wanna go back to my fish and poi
I wanna go back to my little grass shack in Kealakekua, Hawaii
Where the humuhumunukunukuapua'a go swimming by

Wolf gets a monied producer on this record. Worth a listen. 1970.

(12,002 posts)He recorded a prewritten script for American Top 40. The engineers later combined his voice with the music, but the producers knew what songs would be played in what order when the script was written.
When the production was completed, he would be coming out of an up tempo song into a solemn dedication of Shannon to a guy whose dog had just died. Thats a tough thing to pull off for a jock, even as one as talented as Casey Kasem. And apparently this wasnt even close to the first time something like that had happened. Thats what he was mad about. If youre going to do a death dedication dont do it either immediately after, or immediately before, an up tempo song.

I was more interested in the song then the car, If I see it again I will let you know. Any funny thing I had to have another mammogram as the first was abnormal and they where playing "Stairway to Heaven" The older ladies didn;t like it. I did.

(2,560 posts)My favorite Beatles song. Somebody on the Beatles channel on Sirius satellite radio explained the weird lyrics John Lennon wrote for that song. Lots of people had been trying to read all kinds of mystical deep meanings into Beatles lyrics, and John Lennon wrote those apparently nonsensical lyrics in an attempt to foil them. But, in my humble opinion, if that was his purpose, he failed. When the Magical Mystery Tour album first came out -- when was that? 1965, I think -- and I listened to that song just a few times, those crazy lyrics started making a weird sort of sense to me. Now, I think those lyrics are brilliant, and perfect for that song. I have never been a parent to a daughter, but if I ever had been, and if I had been the one who got to name her, I would have named her Semolina Pilchard. And by now, I suppose she would have climbed up the Eiffel Tower. Or gone up inside it in an elevator, anyway.

Evelyn, a modified dog
Viewed the quivering fringe of a special doily
Draped across the piano, with some surprise
In the darkened room
Where the chairs dismayed
And the horrible curtains
Muffled the rain
She could hardly believe her eyes
A curious breeze
A garlic breath
Which sounded like a snore
Somewhere near the Steinway (or even from within)
Had caused the doily fringe to waft & tremble in the gloom
Evelyn, a dog, having undergone
Further modification
Pondered the significance of short-person behavior
In pedal-depressed panchromatic resonance
And other highly ambient domains...
