(13,822 posts)Prices run from $0.89 up to $2.39 a pound.
The $2.39 price was for a Butterball breast, which are not worth that price, even the organic birds come in 10-15 cents less than that

(8,972 posts)She went to a local BP store and bought $150. worth of groceries, which you will agree is easy to do these day. So she paid, and they handed her a nice frozen Butterball turkey. Top that, supermarkets!

Considering many turkey flocks were destroyed earlier in the season due to avian flu and just the general increase in feed costs, 99 is pretty good.
Make room in the freezer for an extra one. Will taste really good later this winter.

(60,436 posts)Turkeys are not native to Europe, but they are now farmed here extensively. Because we have about 20 people from 4 countries come, we order a 15 kilo turkey. Thats 33 pounds, and it costs around $80.

(791 posts)and deliver them fresh two days before Thanksgiving. $4/lb.
Keep in mind that when you buy a grocery store bird, it can be, and usually is, legally injected with salt water, which is part of what you're paying for.
