In my last house I had the Jack and Jill bathroom off the master where the Jack side had a blue bath/tub combo, and the Jill side had the pink. Floor and separate shower stalls were terraza. Vanities were Arizona ash that tapered inward toward the floor. Very 50’s. Looked all over for parts so I wouldn’t have to replace.

I really like Terrazzo floors. There's something unique about the look but I don't believe I would enjoy cleaning that type of flooring.

Shhhh....keep it the down low!

In Florida. I love terrazzo. If I ever build a house, it will have terrazzo floors. Heated and cooled terrazzo floors. It's a central part of my lottery dream house ideas fantasy. Easier for dogs, and if you don't want a high gloss on them, not that much work; not really much more than a tile floor.

My folks had Poppy Red formica countertops to go with their Harvest Gold refrigerator and wall-mounted phone.

This sounds ghastly but it was actually very pretty, for the time.

My friend arrived as the first guest at a baby shower. She didn’t know the hostess so tried to make small talk while they sat in the kitchen. She commented that she liked her yellow refrigerator and the hostess replied with, “It’s WHITE”. My friend had foot-in-mouth disease a lot.

Which made sense, as my dad was growing avocados hoping to make it a second career after he retired from his union job with a decent pension.

Alas, that entire rural community was obliterated by mini-ranches and McMansion development, so my parents decided to sell out (probably too soon), take the money, and run. Little remains of the place I knew.

I wouldn't make the height requirement...

There was a house we looked at a few years ago. It was what some call stickbuilt.
It was ca. 1910, visually interesting but quite vertical, so to speak. I think even my husband at 5' 10" found the kitchen cabinets "too damn high"
These are lovely pictures and I envy the uncluttered look and life, which is another
requirement I wouldn't make...
