(10,180 posts)I wasn't able to watch The West Wing in real time because I had a job that was overwhelming and I hardly watched anything (I didn't have DVR options back then).
It's so many seasons now that it seem daunting. The West Wing is my sister's favorite show of all time. I've heard fantastic things hear on DU and from other friends.
BOSSHOG
(44,738 posts)Excellent acting. Good Use of comedy. Stands the test of time. Not too crazy about the last season. Seemed like stuff just thrown together to get out of town.

It's a Shakespearean tale, told in the setting of Baltimore projects and drug dens.

(2,297 posts)It was one of the many western themed tv serials of the 50s and 60s. It starred Richard Boon, a guy who would never get a leading man role today. He played Paladin, a sort of dandy private eye, recovery man who righted wrongs, usually for money. The show had a great theme song.
Heres an odd political connection: Paladin handed out a business card that read, Have Gun Will Travel, Wire Paladin, Hotel Carlton, San Francisco. A Hotel Carlton exists today in San Francisco and I think its related to the one on Paladins business card. Its owned-or was owned not long ago-by Dianne Feinstein.
Theme song lyrics:
Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.
A knight without armor in a savage land.
His fast gun for hire heeds the calling wind.
A soldier of fortune is the man called Paladin
