My Facebook is being bombed with puppies for sale...

"Friend requests," that are just somebody selling puppies, most often Shih Tzus, or Chihuahuas.

Anyone else noticing this?

we're in shock somewhat. I still have the other two so we're watching them closely, to make sure that they are handling her death (the first dog) aok. It's sad all around...eventually, we might look at another rescue puppy, but not until things settle down.

I really don't trust these, they sound too much like puppy mills.

I'm more of a rescue dog person. My folks and I have a place in the country (outside of a state park, where there is a two lane highway, and I bet that my folks had at least 20 dogs that were dumped on the road behind the park) and the dogs ended up coming up the road to my folks' place. Everyone along the sparsely populated two-lane country road all had dogs that people dumped there. It is / and was horrible. We did our part/best to save those abandoned dogs/dumped dogs, but you can adopt only so many.

A horrible and dark side of humanity, when people want to get rid of their pets. What gets me is that the dogs we ended up adopting, have been the most loving, most best animals that we've ever had. A hateful side of human nature that I, here in STLMO city have seen...I mention the city of STLMO, as it's one of the most progressive and animal friendly cities that I've lived in. Often times, the animal societies in the city will go out to places in the Ozarks (immediately to the west and south of STLMO), and get someone's animals, they're unable to take care of them (an elderly person w/ too many animals, who's passed or just plain unable to take care of them, or an abandoned puppy mill (or raided too, doesn't matter how, the animals are usually just abandoned).

Take care!
