It seems the more one "wordles," the more likely we'll go with the strange words. I noticed yesterday several here went with "shard" and/or "shark" before they went with "sharp" -- more obscure before more common word choices, and all the more interesting that so many went that route.

18. I act on some biases as to what makes a word a "Wordle word."

If one of two possible words is an animal, I go with that word. If a word is commonly used in a humorous context I am more likely to try it. I see words as Scrabble words and tend to downgrade words that consist of all one point tiles. To your point, I was one of the people that tried "shark" before "sharp."

23. I went with SHARD before SHARP

because at that point I was still looking to either use or eliminate letters from the most frequently used 12.

But seeing as we are past 900 now, I can also understand the impulse to go with "unusual" words.
