On Friday my clothes washer started leaking badly out the soap dispenser whenever it drains. This morning my oven caught fire and I had to call the fire department (it's 20F and the windows are open to get the smoke out). I know Mercury goes retrograde next week, but does that affect home appliances? Not that I believe that stuff anyhow, but WTF?

(23,568 posts)weeds, (pull them during a full moon; they come right out.) So if the item uses water I think it could be affected.

And, that's the truth!

(103,809 posts)I have to say this, astrology is not a belief system nor a religion. It is a form of time keeping which includes time in the past, present and future by observing movement in the solar system. The attributes applied to the elements assigned meaning are there to help us understand how it all works in tangible ways.
Too bad all the hype about it is so prevalent, mostly due to the fears religions generate about it. It can be a helpful tool if you get how it works.

(7,164 posts)nasty Mercury Retrograde.thru the 1st of next year.
Delays, mechanical and electrical problems and screwed-up
communication during M.R. are all symptomatic of this
3x a year event.
If you're paying attention you'll see this yourself....
So, allow more time for traveling expect delays,
Shrug off things that break (remember Nature always sides with
the hidden flaw!)
Be careful when communicating to avoid wild misunderstandings...
