(61,671 posts)True. Im the only one who loves it so I take a small piece every other day until its all gone in about a week or more- as a treat with coffee at breakfast. Thats about all I can deal with. 😆 The Panettone goes quickly. We all like it.

(16,344 posts)I do give the toffee as gifts so I try to get those done first. I plan to spend much of the weekend before baking cookies, since my kids will be in town.

(131,214 posts)I make it sometimes, but the recipe is a bit imprecise, as the old ones often are.

(61,671 posts)apricots are placed inside and opposite ends are folded over. When I watched my grandmother for the recipe, she would say there
isn't one just watch me do it. Same with rolled nut bread. Only later when I took a Christmas baking class at the Community College did I have the precise recipe.

I had to stop reading the Jeopardy one because I was getting hooked.

(16,534 posts)Our kitchen was taken over with the prep for two days. Using our great-grandmother's recipe, the ingredients were mixed in large roasting pans which were then covered and allowed to rise overnight. It took Mom and Grandma an entire day to turn the dough into delicious treats. The aroma permeated every Christmas memory and continues to do so. Christmas Day breakfast -- aebleskive dusted with powdered sugar, accompanied by hot cocoa. Ymmmm!

(29,949 posts)In a brown bag grocery sized bag put assorted stuff in it.
Chexcereal Raisins
Peanuts Oats
Pretzels Whatever you like
We used popcorn butter in a bottle but again use what you like. Olive oil, butter. Mix you butter into the bag with dry ingredients.
A packet of dry Ranch dressing sprinkled over contents.
Shack bag vigorously and place in warm oven. I dont remember how long.
It makes a ton so we dont make it now that we are spread all over the US and Central America.
