A sweet surprise from long ago and far away, courtesy of my inner jukebox
or maybe it’s more my interior music library.
In any case, meant to share.

I’m a fool for snow and cold and this captures it so beautifully.
Winter in my blood, mama said, from my earliest days.
We got a little snow and a little ice, just a teasing taste of snows to come.
Some of the elders around here are predicting lots of snow this winter and I hope they’re right. The waterways and aquifers could use charging still.

It makes so much more sense to celebrate the returning of the light. I wonder about the origin of celebrating with bells, if it was pagan or not.
