Spent time in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia. None are nearly the same; Doing Business obligatory drinking/partying....youngers (like me), expected to hurt ourselves - alcohol wise.

The trick. Start with a G&T, next Tonic and Lime, then G&T, repeat. Drinking rate 1/2 of my Chinese brethren.

Learn Lying Dice,,,,you can forget about language difficulties if you can play and win at this game of dice numbers and dishonesty - all you need are fingers, That is it, Your fingers talk for you...show numbers and then we see if you are lying,....if you want to win.

I had so many great nights at Friend's Bar in Zhongshan, PRC,,,early investor, always drank free. But learned to play Lyin' Dice and made a whole bunch of local Chinese friends,

“Gin thankfully has its roots as a healing libation.
Gin was first discovered as the flavor-cutting and buzz-creating malaria treatment in the Gin and Tonic. Then, as a way to deliver much needed Vitamin C to sailors, gin rose to the occasion AGAIN in the classic Gimlet gin cocktail with the pairing of gin and lime. One might wonder, could they just eat an orange? Sure, but what’s the fun in that?“

my goto drink is a bock beer, like Shiner or Amber Bock.

My hard liquor preference always involves Tequila. I love a well-constructed Bloody Maria, but in my youth I was even known to eat the worm.

At home, I drink light wine, with negligible alcohol impact.

It has been too long since I had a Bloody Maria. Just talking about it is reminding me how good it tastes.

However, I usually order red wine. We have a bring your own wine Italian place nearby and red wine is what I take.

I do like a good gin and tonic, and I also like plain tonic and lime. I used to go to big parties and order a G & T then spend the rest of the evening with plain tonic.and lime.
Folks thought I was a serious drinker too because they thought I was still drinking it with the gin!

I'm not much of a drinker. There's no particular reason why I'm not a drinker, it's just that I always preferred smoking marijuana over drinking alcohol even during my teen years.

Anyways, if I'm in a bar, you'll find me most likely smoking a (that's one and only one) Swisher Sweets Cigar and I'll be playing a game or five at the Shuffleboard table since that's my jam.

My first choice would be a buttery Chardonnay. For a mixed drink, gin and tonic with a slice of lime.

Irish coffee is wonderful on a cold day.
