When they cast Howard Hughes’ women in that show they didn’t go out and look for people who looked just like the actresses they were playing, and they didn’t spend four hours gluing latex to them before they went on set. They got people with the same attitude Hughes’ paramours had. Because I assure you Kate Beckinsale doesn’t look like Ava Gardner. I’m not even sure you could have made her look like Ava - Ms. Gardner’s face is a lot wider than Ms. Beckinsale’s.

To play me you’re going to have to be able to play a guy who can reseat cards in an IBM Series/1 minicomputer, hem a 50-foot-long banner or drive a ground rod in a rainstorm and at least look like he knows why he’s doing it.
